About Rappcats

  • RappCats is a private, non-profit organization that rescues, cares for, and finds loving homes for abandoned, abused, neglected, injured, and homeless cats and kittens throughout Rappahannock County.
  • RappCats is not affiliated with the County government and relies entirely on the generosity of people like you to support our operations.
  • We operate the RappCats Adoption Center, a cage-free, no-kill facility that is the only state-approved cat shelter in Rappahannock County. The Rappahannock County animal shelter only assists dogs, so our assistance for cats and kittens is critical.
  • RappCats is operated by volunteers and funded through donations alone. Learn more on how you can help us on our Volunteer and Donations pages.
  • We have a team of volunteers who socialize rescue cats and kittens to enable them to find wonderful, loving homes.
  • We provide foster homes for kittens, nursing mothers, and certain special needs cats.
  • We assist members of the community to spay, neuter and vaccinate cats and kittens in Rappahannock County.
  • RappCats provides assistance to local families, senior citizens, and others in the community who need help affording food and veterinary care for their cats.
  • We help members of the community trap stray cats, and then offer the needed follow-up care.
  • RappCats provides information resources to the community.
